More incredible footage of Crane’s Beach sharks. These are mostly young of the year sharks born last Spring. They are cannibalistic in utero and are five feet long at birth, when they have to flee their mothers who will eat them if given a chance.
The fascinating aspect of these sharks is that as waters have warmed sharks have established new nursery grounds. It is possible these come from a new nursery ground north of their traditional nursery south of Cape Cod.
They appear to be feeding on striped bass which are feeding on sand launce which are particularly abundant off Crane’s Beach this year.
