Moderate to Severe Erosion Forecast for Cape Cod and the North Shore.
Cape Cod and the North Shore can expect moderate to severe coastal flooding during today’s Bombogenesis storm.
We will be particularly watching the effects of the new natural weir on the Merrimack River’s South Jetty and Salisbury Beach.
Salisbury Beach remains extremely vulnerable to coastal erosion, while deliberations continue about installing anti-erosion devices including a defense department designed breakwater that would be located half a mile offshore.
The accompanying rain will help alleviate the North Shore’s continuing severe drought.
Expect downed trees and power outages from the 60 plus mph gusts.
